Overton resigns as coach-GM of Sky

Mar 13, 2008 - 7:54 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Chicago Sky coach-general manager Bo Overton abruptly announced his resignation Thursday.

Overton guided the Sky to a 14-20 record last season, a marked improvement from the franchise's inaugural campaign when the team went 5-29 under Dave Cowens.

Steve Key, who was serving as an assistant, has been named coach-GM.

"I'm very enthusiastic about our future; with our current talent plus the number two pick in the rookie draft, the Sky is poised to reach new heights in 2008," Key said.
