Storm re-sign C Burse
Apr 14, 2008 - 11:51 PM SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Seattle Storm on Monday re-signed center Janell Burse.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are very excited to have Janell return," Storm coach and director of player personnel Brian Agler said. "She is one of the more experienced centers in the WNBA, has been a starter for the Storm over the past three seasons and will continue to help our team tremendously."
Burse averaged 8.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 29 games with Seattle last season. Her 16 rebounds in one half and 11 in one quarter against the Phoenix Mercury are WNBA records.
The 6-5 Burse, who was a second-round pick of the Minnesota Lynx in 2001, has averaged 6.9 points and 4.2 rebounds in seven seasons with the Lynx and Storm.
