MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - Minnesota Lynx point guard Lindsey Harding is out indefinitely after suffering another left knee injury.
The team announced Thursday that Harding, the first overall pick of the 2007 WNBA draft, suffered a stress fracture of her left knee cap while playing with the U.S. Senior National Team in China earlier this month.
The 23-year-old Harding suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee in July, which ended her rookie season after just 20 games. She did not suffer any damage to the surgically repaired ligament in this most recent setback.
"We are obviously very disappointed with the latest results on Lindsey's knee," Lynx coach Don Zierden said. "I feel for her because I know how hard she has worked to rehab her knee since the injury last July.
"But at the same time, I know what kind of fighter she is, and this will just be a bump in the road on her way to a full recovery."
Harding led all rookies in scoring with 11.7 points per game in 2007.
