Aug 27, 2008 - 9:26 PM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Sparks added the tallest player in WNBA history Wednesday, signing 7-2 center Margo Dydek.Dydek, who has not played this season after giving birth, holds the league record with 811 blocks in 289 games.
"Margo is a veteran who brings experience and solid defensive presence to our frontcourt," Sparks coach Michael Cooper said. "She's a good, seasoned vet that can block shots, rebound and finish."
A 10-year veteran, Dydek was selected first overall by the Utah Starzz in the 1998 draft. She has career averages of 10.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks.
