Parker, Leslie help Sparks down Lynx
Sep 2, 2008 - 4:53 AM By PA SportsTickerLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Candace Parker scored 24 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and Lisa Leslie added 20 and eight with eight blocks to lead the Los Angeles Sparks to an 82-58 rout of the Minnesota Lynx on Monday.
Parker shot 8-of-13 from the field and DeLisha Milton-Jones finished with seven points and 10 rebounds for the Sparks, who outrebounded the Lynx by a 47-29 margin en route to their fourth straight win.
Los Angeles trailed, 22-16, at the end of the opening quarter and entered intermission tied at 47-47, but pulled away after the break. The Sparks dominated the second half, outscoring their opponents by a 45-21 margin over the last 20 minutes.
Seimone Augustus poured in 13 points and Nicky Anosike added 11 with seven rebounds for Minnesota, which had won three of its previous four games.
