Augustus leaves game in wheelchair with apparent neck injury
Sep 10, 2008 - 1:07 AM MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Minnesota Lynx guard Seimone Augustus left Tuesday's game with the Indiana Fever in a wheelchair after suffering an apparent neck injury.While grabbing a defensive rebound in the first quarter, Augustus got tangled up with Fever forward Tamika Catchings, who was a teammate of Augustus on the gold medal-winning United States Olympic team.
Augustus dished off the ball before falling awkwardly to the court, was attended to immediately by Minnesota's medical personnel and fitted for a neck brace as tears streamed down her cheeks.
No one has shouted yet.
