NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Indiana Fever forward Ebony Hoffman was named the WNBA's Most Improved Player, the league announced Friday.
Hoffman received 31 votes, while Chicago Sky guard Jia Perkins finished second with five and New York Liberty forward Shameka Christon followed with two.
In her fifth season in the league, Hoffman averaged career highs in points (10.4), rebounds (7.8), assists (1.8) steals (1.4) and field goal percentage (46.5).
Hoffman becomes the second Indiana player to win the award. Then a member of the Fever, Kelly Miller shared the award with Wendy Palmer in 2004.
The 26-year-old Hoffman was selected ninth overall by the Fever in the 2004 draft after a decorated career at Southern California, where she was a three-time All-Pac-10 honoree.
