    Seth Stifles Angels | Royals Secure Series in Finale

    Seth Lugo turned in a dominant performance in the series finale vs. the Angels, striking out a career-best 12 batters over 8.0 innings and allowing just 1 run. The bats did all their damage in the 4th inning, putting up a 4-spot thanks to RBI hits from Freddy Fermin, Hunter Renfroe, and on a squeeze bunt from Michael Massey. James McArthur came on for the 9th inning to lock down the win and give the Royals a series win.

    Alec Marsh returned to the mound from his stint on the injured list and pitched well, striking out a season-high 7 batters over 5.1 innings and giving up just 1 run. Chris Stratton, Will Smith, and Tyler Duffey held the Angels off the board in relief of Marsh to keep the game close, but the Royals offense was held off the scoreboard for the first 8 innings. After a one-out single for MJ Melendez in the 9th, his third hit of the game, Adam Frazier stepped to the plate and delivered with his first Royals home run to swing the Royals ahead dramatically. John Schreiber came on in the bottom of the 9th to slam the door and give the Royals their third straight win.

Vinnie Pasquantino belted a 442' blast and drove in another with a sacrifice fly, and Maikel Garcia turned in a season-high three-hit performance in the winning effort as the Royals plated 10 to open the series and road trip with a win.
