Vanderbilt vs. NC State: The Wolfpack defeated the Commodores late Saturday night in Chicago, 70-66. D.J. Burns Jr. was great for NC State, in the second half alone he had 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Burns finished with a season-high 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and a block for the game. Terquavion Smith and 16 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Casey Morsell added 15 points.
VAN 66, NCST 70Pittsburgh vs Vanderbilt: Pitt had their five-game winning streak snapped on the road at Vanderbilt, losing 75-74. The Panthers trailed by seven with 1:40 left in the game and went on an 8-0 run to take a one-point lead off a Nelly Cummings jumper. Unfortunately, the Commodores retook the lead with two free throws by Tyrin Lawrence with 1.1 seconds left. And the last-second go-ahead three-pointer by Jamarius Burton was blocked. Greg Elliott led Pitt with 20 points. Nelly Cummings had 18 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Blake Hinson added 14 points.
