The hosts ultimately booked their place in the Fourth Round though captain Luke Garbutt's goal from a free-kick, setting up a tie at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City.

Aaron Drinan was the star of the show with a perfect hat-trick, opening the scoring after just 8 minutes before adding two more goals in the 76th and 86th minutes. Joe Snowdon extended Swindon's lead in the 55th minute, capping off a dominant display.
SWI 4, BOL 0Swindon Town secured their place in the Second Round with a dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory over Rotherham United at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. The Millers took an early lead through Sam Nombe's 5th-minute strike, but Swindon fought back with former Wrexham striker Ollie Palmer's equaliser in the 72nd minute, forcing the match into extra time. Darren Oldaker then became the hero with a 116th-minute winner to complete the comeback. Despite playing with 10 men after receiving a red card, Swindon showed tremendous resilience and outshot their hosts 8-4 on target to advance in the competition.
