The Tykes came from behind after Josh Stones gave York an early lead in the 23rd minute, with Darrell Keillor-Dunn equalising seven minutes later. Keillor-Dunn struck again in the 77th minute to put Barnsley ahead, but Mark Kitching's 87th-minute equalizer set up a dramatic finale. Max Roberts proved to be the hero with a stoppage-time winner in the 91st minute, ensuring Barnsley's progression despite York's valiant effort.
