Rangers agree to terms with Moreland
Mar 1, 2012 - 6:57 PM Surprise, AZ (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers have agreed to contract terms for 2012 with eight players, including first baseman Mitch Moreland.In 134 regular-season games for Texas in 2011, Moreland batted .259 with 16 home runs and 51 runs batted in. He hit .103 in the playoffs, with two of his three hits going for home runs.
Moreland underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right wrist at the end of November.
Texas also signed pitchers Kelvin De La Cruz, Cody Eppley, Neil Ramirez and Matt West, outfielder Craig Gentry, catcher Luis Martinez and infielder Brandon Snyder.
With these agreements, all players on the 40-man roster have agreed to terms for the 2012 season.
