Riders extend GM Taman
Mar 28, 2013 - 4:23 PM Regina, SK (Sports Network) - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have given general manager Brendan Taman a two-year extension through the 2015 season.Taman will enter his fourth year as the club's general manager. He took complete control of the football operations in November 2011.
"Brendan has proven himself to be a valuable member of our organization," said Riders CEO Jim Hopson in a statement Thursday. "By completing this extension we have created continuity within the Riders football operations. We feel Brendan is continuously increasing the talent level of this team and we are excited to move forward under Brendan's direction."
The Riders were 8-10 last season and lost to Calgary in the West Division semifinal.
"I understand and welcome the expectations and responsibilities that go along with having this position," said Taman. "My job is to keep moving this team forward and I am confident we have the people in place to do that."
Saskatchewan lost in the Grey Cup final in 2009 and 2010, falling to Montreal both times, and last won the championship in 2007.
