Ti-Cats add LB's Butler, Kromah

Feb 11, 2014 - 11:44 PM Hamilton, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats continued to address the defensive side of the ball on Tuesday's first day of free agency, with linebackers Craig Butler and Abraham Kromah the team's latest additions.

Both players were members of the 2013 Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders. Butler registered 60 tackles, four interceptions, three sacks and two fumble recoveries last season, while Kromah was limited to just one game due to injury.

The Ti-Cats inked former Winnipeg defensive back Brandon Stewart to an undisclosed contract earlier in the day, while also re-signing special teams standout Marc Beswick to a three-year extension.

Butler, a second-round pick of Saskatchewan in the 2011 CFL Draft, earned West Division All-Star honors as a rookie after compiling 47 tackles, five interceptions and one sack for the Roughriders.

Kromah started eight times for Saskatchewan in 2012 and recorded 39 tackles, one sack and five special-teams stops that season.
