Bombers sign Leggett to extension
Dec 8, 2014 - 1:47 PM Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed safety Maurice Leggett to a contract extension through the 2017 season.Leggett tied for second in the league with five interceptions, added three fumble recoveries and two sacks while making 65 tackles in his first season with the Bombers.
"Maurice came in early and established himself as a real pro," said Blue Bombers general manager Kyle Walters on Monday. "It was evident quickly that he could be an impact player for us, and his play spoke to that throughout the season. He's an all-around good asset for our organization and we're very happy to get him under contract for the next three seasons."
Leggett also returned a missed field goal 114 yards for a touchdown in an October game against Ottawa and was selected as the Bombers' Most Outstanding Defensive Player of 2014.
