MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (Ticker) -- The Toronto Argonauts signed a pair of former NFL first-round picks, inking offensive tackle Kenyatta Walker and defensive lineman Duane Clemons on Monday.
The 14th overall pick in 2001 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Walker appeared in 75 games - starting 73 - in six seasons with the team. He was the starting right tackle for Tampa Bay when it beat the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVI in January 2003.
Most recently, the 29-year-old went to training camp with the Carolina Panthers in 2007, failing to survive the final round of cuts.
Clemons was selected 16th overall by the Minnesota Vikings in 1996, going on to play 10 seasons with the Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.
In 142 career games including 85 starts, Clemons, 34, compiled 337 tackles and 49 1/2 sacks.
Those two signings were a part of nine for Toronto, which also added defensive lineman Daryl Whittington, Darrell Lee and Walter Curry, defensive back Will Poole, safety-linebacker Matt Hewitt, offensive tackle Brandon Joyce and offensive lineman Chris Van Zeyl.
In other moves, the Argonauts released offensive lineman Mike Galassi and linebacker Andre Maddox.
