Argonauts release G St. John, OT Davis
Mar 2, 2009 - 6:42 PM MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (Ticker) -- The Toronto Argonauts on Monday released a pair of veterans - - guard Jude St. John and offensive tackle Jerome Davis.In 11 seasons with the Argonauts, St. John played in 181 games, seventh-most in club history and third-most by a Toronto lineman. He won his first and only Grey Cup championship in 2004 and was named an East Division All-Star three times.
Davis saw action in 43 games with Toronto over the past three seasons, playing left and right tackle. He originally joined the team in 2005 and was released after the 2006 season before re-signing late in 2007.
"We would like to thank Jude for all of his years of service and appreciate his contributions over the years," Toronto general manager Adam Rita said. "Jerome has been a warrior and, like Jude, has played through injuries and given us all he could."
