Twins place OF Cuddyer on DL
Jul 20, 2007 - 8:01 PM MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Twins placed outfielder Michael Cuddyer on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right thumb prior to Friday's evening game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.The move is retroactive to Thursday for Cuddyer, who suffered the injury attempting to break up a double play in the fourth inning of Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Detroit Tigers.
Cuddyer hit .289 with 10 home runs and 56 RBI in 89 games.
In the corresponding move, Minnesota purchased the contract of outfielder Darnell McDonald from Class AAA Rochester.
McDonald was hitting .282 with two homers and 13 RBI in 22 games with Rochester since being acquired from the Washington Nationals on June 24.
