Report: Cano has broken toe
Nov 15, 2014 - 6:19 PM Tokyo, Japan (SportsNetwork.com) - Seattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano reportedly suffered a broken toe when he was hit by a pitch in Saturday's Japan Series game at the Tokyo Dome.Cano was hit by a pitch from Yuki Nishi in the seventh inning and left the contest.
MLB.com cited a source as saying Cano suffered a non-displaced fracture of the pinkie toe on his right foot. He is expected to miss the remaining two games of the series and will likely need about 3-to-4 weeks to recover.
The MLB All-Stars were no-hit Saturday in a 4-0 loss and have dropped each of the first three games of the five-game set.
Cano, who was 2-for-10 in three games this week, batted .314 with 14 homers and 82 runs batted in over 157 games this past season, his first with the Mariners after signing a 10-year contract with Seattle as a free agent last December.
