Pirates finalize deal with Liriano
Dec 12, 2014 - 7:49 PM Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Pirates signed pitcher Francisco Liriano to a three-year contract on Friday.Financial terms were not released, but multiple outlets reported during the winter meetings that the left-hander's contract is worth $39 million, the richest free-agent deal in team history.
Liriano, 31, went 7-10 with a 3.38 ERA in 29 starts this past season with the Pirates. He won 16 games for the club in 2013.
For his career, Liriano is 76-72 with a 4.07 ERA in 223 games (196 starts) with the Minnesota Twins, Chicago Whites Sox and Pirates.
