Mariners' Cruz named AL Player of the Month
May 4, 2015 - 9:38 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Seattle Mariners right fielder Nelson Cruz was named Monday as the American League Player of the Month for April.Cruz homered in five consecutive games during one stretch and finished tied for the major league lead with 10 at the end of the month.
He batted .322 with 22 RBI and a .372 on-base percentage, becoming the first Mariners player to earn the award since Ichiro Suzuki in August 2004.
