Twins activate Cuddyer from DL

Apr 24, 2008 - 11:05 PM OAKLAND, California Ticker) -- The Minnesota Twins will activate outfielder Michael Cuddyer from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Texas Rangers.

Cuddyer has been on the DL since April 5 with a dislocated and lacerated right index finger. He suffered the injury the previous night when he slid hard into third base and jammed his right hand.

To make room for Cuddyer on the 25-man roster, the Twins optioned outfielder Denard Span to Class AAA Rochester of the International League.

Since getting recalled on April 5, Span batted .233 with two RBI in 11 games.
