Ortiz sits again for Red Sox

PETERSBURG, Florida (Ticker) -- For the second straight day, designated hitter David Ortiz is not in the starting lineup for the Boston Red Sox due to a bruised right knee.Ortiz suffered the injury while attempting to beat out a double-play grounder in the 11th inning of Friday's 5-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.
Ortiz, who is batting just .177, did not play in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to the Rays. The Red Sox used J.D. Drew as their designated hitter.
On Sunday, Tampa Bay will attempt to sweep a three-game series from Boston for the first time in franchise history.
