Nationals option LHP O'Connor
May 11, 2008 - 9:45 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Washington Nationals optioned lefthander Mike O'Connor to Class AAA Columbus following Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Florida Marlins.O'Connor, 27, went 1-1 with a 13.00 ERA in five games with the Nationals this season. He started Saturday against the Marlins and allowed nine runs in 3 1/3 innings in an 11-0 loss.
In a corresponding move, the Nationals recalled righthander Chris Schroder from Columbus. The 29-year-old Schroder posted a 3.38 ERA in two games in his first stint with the Nationals from March 31-April 16.
