Twins SS Everett put back on DL

May 22, 2008 - 8:45 PM MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Minnesota Twins shortstop Adam Everett was placed back on the 15-day disabled list Thursday due to nagging pain in his right shoulder.

Everett was originally placed on the DL on April 15 with a right shoulder strain, but has experienced continuing pain in the joint, even taking a cortisone shot to deal with the tendinitis.

Everett had appeared in 16 games since being activated from his first stint on the DL on May 2, but hit just .191 in 47 at-bats.

Everett did get a hit in three at-bats against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday, but was replaced in the lineup by Brendan Harris on Thursday.

An eight-year veteran, Everett has hit .189 with a home run and seven RBI in 25 games this season.

In the corresponding move, the Twins recalled infielder Matt Macri from Class AAA Rochester. In 29 games with the Red Wings this season, Macri was hitting .263 with a home run and nine RBI.
