Red Sox CF Crisp leaves game

Jun 18, 2008 - 6:45 PM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Boston Red Sox center fielder Coco Crisp left Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies in the third inning with discomfort in his left hand.

Brandon Moss batted for Crisp, who is listed as day-to-day. Crisp grounded out in his only at-bat to end Boston's four-run first inning.

Boston was without two other regulars. Left fielder Manny Ramirez was not in the starting lineup due to a tight right hamstring that has been bothering him for the past month.

Ramirez tweaked the hamstring on Tuesday, but the Red Sox expect that he will will return to the lineup on Friday, when Boston begins a three-game interleague series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

First baseman Kevin Youkilis was also out of the lineup for the third straight day with back stiffness, although he also is expected to play on Friday. The Red Sox are off Thursday.
