Nationals' Johnson will miss season
Jun 24, 2008 - 9:30 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Washington Nationals announced on Tuesday that first baseman Nick Johnson will miss the rest of the season after surgery to repair his broken wrist.Johnson, 29, had an operation to repair a small split tear in a ligament on the ulnar side of his right wrist. He had been out since May 15 after hitting .220 with five home runs and 20 RBI in 38 games for Washington this season.
The seven-year veteran, who was first placed on the 15-day disabled list, originally was expected to miss four to six weeks but still felt pain after having a protective cast removed last week.
Johnson, who missed all of last season with a right leg fracture, has had his campaign ended early due to injury three of the last four years.
No one has shouted yet.
