Pirates 3B Mientkiewicz ejected
Jul 13, 2008 - 12:24 AM PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Doug Mientkiewicz was ejected in the fourth inning of Saturday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals for arguing a call at second base.The 34-year-old protested Eric Cooper's call in which the umpire ruled Albert Pujols safely reached base.
Mientkiewicz, who was replaced by Jose Bautista, is batting .265 with one home run and 15 RBI in 70 games this season.
