Red Sox place RHP Aardsma on DL
Aug 24, 2008 - 4:43 PM TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Boston Red Sox on Sunday placed reliever David Aardsma on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain.Aarsdma, who previously was on the disabled list from July 19-August 18 with the same injury, is 3-2 with a 4.19 ERA in 42 games this season.
To replace Aardsma on the roster, the Red Sox recalled righthander David Pauley from Class AAA Pawtucket of the International League.
In two previous stints with the Red Sox this season, Pauley has registered a 10.38 ERA without picking up a decision. He is 14-4 with a 3.55 ERA at Pawtucket, tying for the International League lead in wins.
