Brady tore both ACL, MCL
Sep 11, 2008 - 1:47 AM BOSTON (Ticker) -- New England Patriots record-setting quarterback Tom Brady tore both the ACL and MCL in his left knee, the Boston Globe reported Wednesday. The newspaper also reported medical tests showed no damage to other ligaments and no torn cartilage.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who runs a secretive operation, has refused to disclose Brady's injuries.
According to the Globe, Brady will have surgery on his ACL in one month. A typical course of action is to allow the MCL to heal on its own, which normally takes four to six weeks.
The Patriots begin training camp for the 2009 season in mid to late July, a little more than 10 months from now.
Brady, coming off a season in which he threw a single-season record 50 touchdowns, suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday's opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
No one has shouted yet.
