Twins exercise option on C Redmond

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - The Minnesota Twins on Thursday exercised the team's option on catcher Mike Redmond for the 2009 season.

Redmond batted .287 with 12 RBI in 38 games this past season.

The 37-year-old has a career batting average of .292 with 13 home runs and 231 RBI in 697 games over 11 seasons with the Florida Marlins and Twins.
