Nationals sign OF Harris to two-year deal
Dec 12, 2008 - 10:42 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Washington Nationals on Friday agreed to terms with outfielder Willie Harris on a two-year contract.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Harris had a solid first season with Washington, batting .251 while setting career highs with 13 home runs and 43 RBI in 2008.
In playing a team-high 140 games, Harris was used at five positions for the Nationals. He also tied for the team lead with 50 walks.
Harris is a career .248 hitter in eight seasons with Washington, Atlanta, Boston, the Chicago White Sox and Baltimore.
