Lakers' Young out eight weeks after surgery

Oct 7, 2014 - 5:11 AM El Segundo, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young will miss the next eight weeks after having surgery on Monday to have a torn thumb ligament repaired.

Young was hurt in practice last Thursday, and an MRI exam on Friday revealed a complete tear of the radial collateral ligament.

Young re-signed with the Lakers in July after averaging a career-high 17.9 points in 64 games last season, his first with the club.

The 29-year-old Los Angeles native has averaged 12.2 points in 480 career games with the Wizards, Clippers, 76ers and Lakers.
