Lakers exercise contract options on C Bynum, G Farmar
Oct 30, 2007 - 1:06 AM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Lakers on Monday exercised contract options on center Andrew Bynum and guard Jordan Farmar.Both players now are under contract through the 2008-09 season. Bynum will make $2.17 million this season and $2.77 million in 2008-09. Farmar will earn $1.01 million and $1.08 million, respectively, over the next two years.
Bynum, who was selected 10th overall in the first round of the 2005 draft, averaged 7.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 82 games - 53 starts - for Los Angeles in 2006-07. The 7-0, 285-pounder, who turned 20 years old on Saturday, has career averages of 5.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in two seasons with the Lakers.
Farmar who was drafted 26th overall in 2006, averaged 4.4 points and 1.9 assists in 72 games - two starts - for Los Angeles last season.
