Lakers sign Mbenga to 10-day contract
Feb 1, 2008 - 10:13 PM EL SEGUNDO, California (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Lakers on Friday signed free agent center D.J. Mbenga to a second 10-day contract.The 27-year-old Mbenga, who signed his first 10-day contract with Los Angeles on January 21, averaged 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in four games.
Earlier this season, the 7-foot Mbenga averaged 1.2 points and 1.9 points with the Golden State Warriors before being released on January 6.
The Congo native also has played with the Dallas Mavericks.
