Lakers C Gasol out vs. Rockets
Mar 16, 2008 - 7:32 PM HOUSTON (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Lakers center Pau Gasol will be sidelined with a sprained left ankle Sunday against the Houston Rockets.Gasol suffered the injury in the first quarter of Friday's 108-98 loss to the New Orleans Hornets and did not return.
The Lakers (45-20) are 15-4 since acquiring Gasol from Memphis on February 1. The Spaniard is averaging 19.2 points and 8.6 rebounds in 57 games with the Grizzlies and Lakers.
Los Angeles is tied for first place in the Western Conference with the Rockets (45-20), who are riding a 21-game winning streak - the second longest in NBA history.
