Lakers F Walton needs ankle surgery
Jul 15, 2008 - 5:52 PM EL SEGUNDO, California (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Lakers forward Luke Walton needs right ankle surgery, the team announced Tuesday.Walton will undergo the operation Friday to remove bone spurs from his ankle. The procedure will be performed in Los Angeles by Dr. David Thordarson.
The Lakers have not released a timetable for how long Walton, 28, will be sidelined after the surgery.
The 6-8 Walton averaged 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 74 games this past season with the Western Conference champion Lakers.
