NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The New York Knicks on Thursday signed free agent guard Anthony Roberson, another indication that Stephon Marbury may have played his last game for the team.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Newark Star Ledger reported last week that Roberson agreed to a two-year contract for the minimum of $1.6 million. He played with the Knicks' summer league team in Las Vegas, averaging 14.8 points in five games.

Roberson, 25, is the second guard signed by New York in the last month, joining former Chicago Bulls point guard Chris Duhon. who inked a two-year contract worth $11 million.

The addition of Roberson gives the Knicks 16 players on the roster, one more than the league maximum to start the season. Marbury has one year remaining on his contract and is due to be paid just under $21 million.

Roberson has not played in the NBA since December 23, 2006, spending last season in Israel and Turkey. He averaged 4.1 points and just under nine minutes in 36 career games with the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors.

Roberson was a teammate of Knicks forward David Lee at Florida.
