PARIS (Ticker) -- Dwyane Wade scored 21 points Thursday as the Miami Heat suffered a 100-98 overtime loss to the New Jersey Nets in a preseason contest at Bercy Arena as part of the NBA Europe Live Tour.
Rookie Michael Beasley also had 21 points with seven rebounds and Shawn Marion added 10 and seven for the Heat, who will take on the Nets again Sunday in London at the O2 Arena.
The second overall pick in June's draft, Beasley played well over his 28 minutes but missed a game-tying free throw in the final seconds of overtime.
Wade played 21 minutes and shot 6-of-11 from the field, but Miami - which led throughout much of the contest - struggled offensively when its star player went to the bench.
Devin Harris poured in 21 points and rookie Chris Douglas-Roberts had 18 with six rebounds for the Nets, who played without first-round pick Brook Lopez.
New Jersey swingman Vince Carter left the game in the second quarter with a strained hamstring. He finished with eight points.
