Knicks, Clippers complete Randolph trade

Nov 25, 2008 - 11:57 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday officially completed a four-player trade involving forward Zach Randolph.

The deal, which sent Randolph and guard Mardy Collins to Los Angeles in exchange for forward Tim Thomas and guard Cuttino Mobley, was initially agreed upon last Friday.

But the completion of the trade was delayed pending the players' physicals.

According to multiple reports, the issue that held up the trade was a health concern regarding Mobley's heart.

Mobley reportedly visited a heart specialist on Tuesday morning.

NBA rules stipulate that every player involved must pass a physical before anyone can play with his new team. Typically, there is a 72-hour grace period - two days to undergo a physical and another day for the results to be announced.

Mobley will sit out Tuesday night when the Knicks host the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, Thomas is in the starting lineup.
