Knicks F Harrington, Spurs C Duncan honored

Dec 15, 2008 - 8:26 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- New York Knicks forward Al Harrington and San Antonio Spurs center Tim Duncan were honored as the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week on Monday.

Harrington, who was acquired from Golden State along with Tim Thomas for Jamal Crawford last month, averaged 33.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in helping the Knicks to a 2-1 mark.

The 10-year veteran had a season-high 39 points and 13 rebounds in a 121-109 win at New Jersey on Wednesday.

Duncan led the Spurs to a 4-0 mark last week by averaging 22.0 points and 12.5 rebounds. The two-time league MVP scored 32 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a 133-126 double-overtime win at Dallas on Tuesday.

Other nominees for the awards were Cleveland's LeBron James and Mo Williams, Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki, Denver forward Carmelo Anthony, Detroit guard Richard Hamilton, Los Angeles Clippers forward Zach Randolph, Memphis' Rudy Gay and Orlando's Rashard Lewis.
