Lakers F Ariza day-to-day with concussion

Jan 28, 2009 - 11:09 PM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Lakers forward Trevor Ariza is listed as day-to-day after suffering a concussion in Tuesday's 117-110 double-overtime loss to the Charlotte Bobcats.

Ariza was examined by team physician Dr. John Moe on Wednesday, and the team said he will be re-evaluated Thursday before it embarks on a six-game road trip.

The five-year veteran experienced nausea, dizziness and ringing in his ears after being elbowed in the head by Charlotte's Juwan Howard with 11:10 left in the second quarter. He played another six minutes before heading to the locker room and did not return.

Lakers spokesman John Black told the Orange Country Register that Ariza would not have accompanied the team if it was traveling Wednesday.

Ariza was held scoreless and grabbed only one rebound in 11 minutes Tuesday. For the season, he is averaging 9.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
