Lakers F Ariza cleared to play

Jan 31, 2009 - 12:18 AM SANTA ANA, California (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Lakers forward Trevor Ariza, who suffered a concussion earlier this week, has been cleared to play in Friday's game against Minnesota.

The Orange County Register reported that Ariza was given the OK to play after having a CT scan and MRI.

The five-year veteran suffered a concussion in Tuesday's loss to the Charlotte Bobcats.

Ariza experienced nausea, dizziness and ringing in his ears after being elbowed in the head by Charlotte's Juwan Howard with 11:10 left in the second quarter.

Ariza is averaging 9.0 points and 4.8 rebounds in 44 games.
