Lakers F Odom suspended one game
Mar 10, 2009 - 11:02 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom was suspended one game without pay for leaving the immediate vicinity of the bench during an altercation, the league announced Tuesday.Odom will serve his suspension Wednesday night against the Houston Rockets.
The incident occurred Monday with two seconds left in the third quarter, when Odom came to aid of teammate Trevor Ariza, who hit Rudy Fernandez on the side of the head while the Spaniard was going for a breakaway dunk.
Ariza sent Fernandez crashing to the floor, and Fernandez was taken off on a stretcher with his neck tightly secured. Odom left the bench was players from both teams came together in a heated argument.
