Louisville's Ware fractures leg
Mar 31, 2013 - 10:33 PM Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Louisville guard Kevin Ware was forced out of Sunday's Midwest Regional final matchup against Duke with a broken right leg during the first half.While leaping to attempt to block a 3-point try by the Blue Devils' Tyler Thornton with 6:33 remaining in the opening period, Ware's leg bent awkwardly as he landed in front of the Louisville bench. The sophomore reserve remained down on the court for several minutes before eventually being taken to the locker room on a stretcher.
Play was delayed for nearly 10 minutes while Ware was being attended by medical personnel.
Ware entered the contest averaging 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 16.7 minutes per game, but was coming off a career-high 11-point performance in Friday's 77-69 win over Oregon in the Sweet 16.
