Santa Clara fires basketball coach Kerry Keating
Mar 7, 2016 - 8:06 PM SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) Santa Clara has fired basketball coach Kerry Keating after nine years.Athletic director Renee Baumgartner announced the move Monday, days after the Broncos finished an 11-20 season.
Keating had a 139-159 record at Santa Clara and won the 2011 CollegeInsider.com postseason championship and the 2013 College Basketball Invitational postseason title.
Baumgartner said a national search will begin immediately for Keating's successor.
Santa Clara had a 100 percent graduation rate the past eight years.
