Wisdom-Hylton, Purdue advance past opening round
Mar 18, 2007 - 6:11 AM MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead second-seeded Purdue to a 63-42 Dallas Region triumph over No. 15 Oral Roberts in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.Purdue will next play seventh-seeded Georgia Tech in Monday's second round.
Wisdom-Hylton shot 8-of-11 from the floor and had four steals for the Boilermakers (29-5), who have won eight straight contests.
Katie Gearlds scored 11 points and FahKara Malone added 10 for Purdue, which shot 53 percent (26-of-49) from the field.
Purdue led, 35-17, at halftime after shooting an impressive 58 percent (14-of-24).
Elisha Turek scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (22-11), who had their three-game winning streak snapped.
Jenny Hardin added 10 points for Oral Roberts, which shot 35 percent (17-of-48) and committed 15 turnovers, leading to 24 points for Purdue.
