No. 6 WVU downs Cincy to stay undefeated
Jan 9, 2011 - 12:02 AM Morgantown, WV (Sports Network) - Madina Ali posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 6 West Virginia defeat Cincinnati, 72-44.Liz Repella notched 11 points, five rebounds and five blocks for the Mountaineers (16-0, 3-0 Big East) while Asya Bussie contributed 10 points, eight boards and five blocks.
Shareese Ulis led all scorers with 16 points, while Kayla Cook chipped in eight points for the Bearcats (8-7, 1-2), who have three losses in five games.
Brooke Hampton's three-pointer ended a 12-2 run to start the game and West Virginia never looked back.
Cincinnati shot just 19.4 percent from the field during the opening half, while the host team took a 38-24 edge at the break behind 46.9 percent shooting.
The Bearcats went just 19.7 percent from the field for the game, while the Mountaineers made 45.5 percent of their shots.
West Virginia continued to roll in the second half, its lead never dipping under 10.
