Defense helps Rutgers soar past Creighton
Nov 17, 2007 - 2:49 AM PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Epiphanny Prince scored 12 points and added seven rebounds to lead No. 7 Rutgers past Creighton, 62-43, on Friday.Essence Carson also chipped in 12 points for the Scarlet Knights (1-1), who shot 50 percent (28-of-56) from the field.
Rutgers won the points in the paint battle, 46-10, and held Creighton to just 22 percent (13-of-59) shooting from the field.
Sara Cain and Ally Thrall each scored 10 points for the Blue Jays (1-1), who shot just 6-of-27 from 3-point range.
