Cole paces West Virginia in win over American
Nov 23, 2007 - 9:03 PM KINGSTON, Rhode Island (Ticker) -- Chakhia Cole scored 19 points to lead 17th-ranked West Virginia past American University, 65-61, on Friday at The Ryan Center.Olayinka Sanni added 19 points and LaQuita Owens contributed 15 and 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers (4-1), who bounced back from Wednesday's 67-49 loss to top-ranked Tennessee.
American (2-3) was led by Liz Hayes, who scored 29 points and made six 3-pointers. Talicia Jackson played 37 minutes in the loss and had 13 points.
